Mt Makalu (8,463m) an isolated peak between Everest and Kanchenjunga is the fifth highest mountain in the world. The mountain is impressive with perfect pyramid shape and four sharp ridges, makes this mountain all the more spectacular one.

Mt. Makalu is not only a beautiful peak but also challenging and potentially dangerous mountain climb, as only five of its first sixteen attempts were successful. Previously, it had been admired and studied by several Everest parties, but like so many other giants in the Khumbu region, it was not attempted until the summit of Everest had been attained in 1954. It was first climbed by the French in 1955

Expedition Preparation

After completing all the logistic process we fly to Tumlintar just above the Arun River to Makalu Base Camp at approximately 5100 meters. We’ll ascend via the Northwest Ridge and establish 4 high camps on the mountain. Our experienced and professional high altitude climbing sherpas will fix ropes as required. According to the client’s fitness, weather condition we’ll be climbing up and down the mountain several times, acclimatizing and stocking the higher camps. Our team work and professional support will make successful scale the summit of Mt Makalu.

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Kathmandu. Briefing and shopping.

Day 03: Fly to Tumlingtar. Trek to Khadbari (1040m).

Day 04: Trek to Bhotebas (1730m). Overnight lodge / camp.

Day 05: Trek toChichiara.

Day 06: Trek to Num.

Day 07: Trek to Kuwapani (1560m).

Day 08-9: Tashi Goan (2100m).Rest day for acclimatization .

Day 10: Trek to Kauma (3760m).

Day 11: Trek to Dobato (3700m).

Day 12: Trek to Nebe Kharka (4320m)..

Day 13: Trek to Sherson (4630m).

Day 14: Trek to Makalu base camp.

Day 15: Higher camp.

Day 16-48: Climbing Period Mt. Makalu.

Day 49: Cleaning up Base Camp.

Day 50: Trek to Yak Kharka.

Day 51: Trek to Mumbuk.

Day 52: Trek to Tashi Goan.

Day 53: Trek to Nun.

Day 54: Trek to Chichira.

Day 55: Trek to Khandbari.

Day 56: Tumlingtar and fly back to Kathmandu.

Day 57-58: Kathmandu.

Day 59: Departure from Kathmandu.
