Tent Peak

Tent peak/Tharpu Chuli 5663m.-The accessibility of this peak in the Annapurna Sanctuary makes it an ideal objective for a short expedition, as the necessary acclimatization is obtained during the walk-in and a day's rest at ABC. Descend onto Annapurna South Glacier from the moraine at Annapurna Base Camp and follow the cairned trail across the boulder-strewn surface of the ice before climbing the moraine on the other side up a zig-zag trail in the prominent gully visible ahead. There is flat camping area at the top at 4200m. There are two normal route on Tharpu Chuli, the northwest ridge and southwest ridge. Both require a high camp at around 4800m. below a subsidiary summit known as Rakshi Peak.
